Planning A Wedding When Finances Are Tight Discussed In Very Basic Terms

Posted March 11, 2012 by in Articles | No comments yet

The year of 2012 is rather a big one for my family as my only daughter is getting married in September. This is without doubt a joyous occasion however I have to admit that I have been somewhat concerned over the financial implications of planning the day. It was all going so well as well, until about two years ago, as I started to save towards a possible future wedding from when my daughter was aged just five. I had around fifteen thousand pounds saved up and was actually rather proud of myself. But then the recession hit the UK and I was one of many people that found themselves being made redundant. Even though I have now gained employment I am earning far less than what I had been – I have had to dip into the savings on a number of occasions as the prices of things such as petrol, food and utilities continue to rise at speed.

We therefore have been planning the wedding on a budget and in truth my daughter has been fine with that as she is fully aware of the situation. When thinking of wedding favour ideas and bridesmaid gifts we have been searching online as this is where we have managed to obtain some real bargains since the financial crisis began. I suppose this is one thing that I have learnt during these turbulent econoimc times – where to obtain the best deals!

The wedding favours as well as the majority of the other wedding items have now been booked and all in all we are all looking forward to what should be a top class day. Just because we have had to reign in our spending power does not mean that we have had to settle for a second rate wedding.

If you are planning a wedding on a tight budget I would advise you to go online to find the cost savings and real bargains.
